I really loved this shop. Not only was the coffee absolutely delicious every time, but their pastries are exquisite, and the view is epic. It's such an intimate place, you may or may not have room to sit and enjoy the ambiance, but i think that just adds to the allure of the place. I'm picky about my iced coffees and my lattes but they just happen to provide excellence consistently, so no worries there. The service is absolutely fantastic, and the options for your beverages are pretty much endless. If there's anything you need or want to know, they will be happy to assist you in the decision making process. This is one place I will miss most certainly about Traverse City. Anytime I visit or if I hear about anyone heading up that way, I'll be sure to send them to good harbor for tasty coffee and yummy treats :-)

Absolutely the best espresso bar in TC. My family and I enjoyed Tsunamis (frothed hot milk, espresso, ice, and topped with cold milk) and delicious pastries (fresh fruit scones, muffins, and fresh strawberry pop tarts). It became our every morning vacation routine. Staff was super friendly. Just a great morning experience. :)

I was looking for some coffee and an outside place in the shade to chill with my dog and people watch. This place is dog friendly (outside at cute little tables). I had their mocha. It pretty good. Tasted almost like a dark chocolate but a little weak coffee. Probably should have got an extra shot. I also bought a humongous espresso muffin. My wife and daughter polished off most of that before I got to it ... but it was really tasty and moist. Loved the glaze on there. The ladies working there were friendly. I'd recommend this place for sure.

When I come here I always get an excellent espresso and if they have one an everything bagel. Certainly a double yum. :)

When I come up to TC I always go here. Its a must! There coffees are always amazing, the cappuccino's are perfect and foamy and creamy. The pastry selection - HEAVEN. Muffins home made every morning, delectable scones and cookies and their bagels - the best in the town. I can't say enough about his perfect this place is. Its pretty busy in the early mornings but that's the only time to see all the gorgeous pastries! Get there early you won't be disappointed.

Very solid espresso drinks. Best coffee I've had yet in tc. The scones were good too. A bit sweet for me but worthwhile.

I needed an early cup of joe and this was one of the few coffee joints I could find in TC that opens at 6am. The customer service was great- the barista was very friendly. They have a nice assortment of gluten free and vegan baked goods that they post on their Facebook page daily. The lemon muffin was moist and flavorful. The coffee tasted good. The prices were reasonable. The friendly attitude made me want to return. Thanks!

I was in town for a friend's wedding & the bride insisted we meet her the morning of the wedding to check out her favorite local coffee shop. I ordered a Dirty Harry & a lemon poppyseed muffin. I'm still thinking about the Dirty Harry three days later & why no one in Chicago serves it! Who knew a simple drink of coffee & hot cocoa could taste so much better than a mocha? Like seriously, this thing must be made of unicorn tears or fairy dust because it was unlike any other flavored coffee drink I've ever had. The muffin was worth the 10,000 calories -- super fresh & sugary! And considering how busy this place was on a Saturday morning, they had my order whipped up in a flash. I'm giving Good Harbor only four stars instead of five because there's very limited seating space outside & absolutely none inside. This is the type of joint where you want to sit & stay a while & enjoy your coffee. Hopefully some day they will get some extra space to expand!

Awesome treats! Next time you crave something yummy, check them out! Conveniently located downtown Traverse City next to James C Smith Fine Jewelry.

This place has a coffee drink they make by incorporating cocoa powder... and you'd think it was the best thing ever invented. Because it is. I've gone back twice just for this specific drink, hence the 'Yay! I'm a fan' rating. Sadly, I can't comment on anything else they offer, sorry about that. Not a whole lot of seating, so a great place to grab-and-go.

My favorite coffee place in the whole world. Amazing coffee, delicious scones. I only wish there was more seating so I could stay all day!
(5)Barb K.
My favorite coffee in town. Always a delight... And not just the coffee. The baked goods and service will make you smile too. The peanut butter cookies are deelish. And the lemon blueberry scones? To die for!

My favorite coffee in town. Great location, great service, and most importantly great coffee. Don't miss the candy cane mochas and lattes during the christmas season.

Stopped for breakfast on Saturday and got blueberry coffee and an herb and cheese bagel. Both we excellent! Service was friendly and they have some outdoor seating. Seems like the menu changes pretty frequently and everything is very fresh.

Small coffee shop in downtown TC. This is a decent spot to grab a latte or other espresso drink. I didn't try the baked goods, but none looked that great. Super friendly service (Par for the course in TC).

In my opinion best coffee in Traverse City! Over the years of visiting I've literally tried every place downtown. It's a little too sweet for my liking but for the average person it's great! They have smoothies made from scratch. There mocha was great! I didn't try any baked goods but they looked delicious!

Love Good Harbor coffee! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable very down to earth. Owner Alice is on site most of the time greeting customers and making coffee creations. I love ALL the scones! I didn't even like scones til I had one of Alice's. Now they are my favorites.

mmmmm, the Traverse City coffee shop that has long set the standard for others to follow... Often imitated, never surpassed...in all honesty. There are now a league of coffee shops in downtown TC (finally, they got the memo that people like to drink coffee and waste time in cute downtown settings), and though they are just fine and dandy, none make better coffee If this gives any insight, at the age of 14 I worked at (now defunct) Javasite (yes, when "internet" cafes existed) around the corner, and STILL want to GH for a coffee fix. It's a "to go" kind of place, unless its summer and you can snag an outside table. I venture to guess most of the inhabitants of these tables are fudgies, though there must be some regulars sprinkled in for good measure. Otherwise, get it to go and enjoy your caffeination bayside at the Open Space... A medium iced coffee and a Diet coke? My favorite summer breakfast. I was all set to jet for a day of wedding festivities, equipped with two fists of brown jolted beverages. Well priced, fairly quick service and at this point, a TC institution not to be missed...it's the epitome of locally owned coffee. Starbucks, NOT WELCOME!

When the right barista is working it is the best coffee in town, sometimes they are busy and it is not as good, but for just a coffee it is still my favorite.
(4)Matthew N.
Decent selection of teas. I'm not a big fan of their baked goods though.

I stopped in looking for a place to have some good coffee and a comfortable place to do a little work on the laptop. The coffee (skim latte) was very well made and yummy. Unfortunately, the only seating is a few bar stools along a counter at the front window. Not at all comfortable to sit and enjoy the yummy coffee. So, if you're on the run, or walking around groovy traverse city, this is a great place to pop in for some great coffee. Just don't plan on parking the derriere and resting the barking dogs.

I am addicted to their lemon blueberry scones. I've tried to create these on my own but I am unable to get the texture right. Today, I'm trying their coconut white chocolate scones for the first time. Check out my photo. Also, their coffee is terrific.

My morning typically begins with a stop at Good Harbor on my way to work. Staff is always super friendly and the wait is never too long. When I allow myself to be naughty in the morning I get an oatmeal streusel or lemon poppyseed muffin; they are phenominal! All espresso and coffee drinks are great. Never had a bad drink and I know my coffee after being a barista during my college summers. Check out Good Harbor next time you are in downtown TC!

It was my first time in Traverse City. Actually, it was my last day. We ended up here on accident- we wanted to find a "pastie" because we kept seeing signs for it but no indication of what it actually was- but Cousin Jennys was closed. So we went here and ooooh, it was good. We had frozen mochas that were outrageous, scones, and one helluva piece of coffee cake. Mmmmm. If I were a local (and boy, am I jealous of you locals!) I would be a regular at this place for sure. Oh, and we found out what pasties were, which makes me even gladder we ended up here.

Tight space with chairs for about 4 but good downtown coffee spot. Unless there are more chairs in the back, the counter at the window is it in terms of seating but a good spot to watch Front St. Real cups if you ask and great espresso etc.

So irritated I just left this place and the only lady working at the cash register was SO rude! I was standing in what I thought was the line but apparently all the people standing around that looked like they were waiting for their coffee were actually in line too. So I went to order and the rude old lady said UM she was first with a rude tone which was not a problem but I totally didnt know needless to stay the latte I got wasn't even that good it was all milk and a tiny bit of espresso . I would never go back
(1)Jay A.
Good coffee, reasonable price. I tried Mocha today. It was good! In fact, you can tell from a long waiting line in the morning LOL Pros: Friendly staffs, good coffee and have many choices to choose Cons: it's probably good to grab a cup of coffee for to-go...cuz of small space.

Best scones in tc. No, they aren't the soft kind. They're flakey, crusty, light bits of heaven.I just can't get a scone anywhere else now. And the cafe au lait cookies? Let's just say I know my cookies *pats tummy* and this is my favorite cookie of all time, anywhere, EVER. It's so good, they only offer them once a week (thurs), because they are so time consuming to make. Try one! You'll be hooked.

I see this Yelp ad for the business has 3 pictures of lattes, all with latte art. The latte that was presented to me didn't have the latte art. It's not just an aesthetic thing. It signifies that the barista knows his or her craft and that the microfoam has been properly prepared. The espresso in the latte had that slightly peanuty aroma and flavor I associate with espresso slightly past its prime. Not the worst latte I've had, but I was disappointed given the reviews.
